Escape Reality with the Escape Rooms | Edinburgh

blog, views & reviews

WRITTEN BY AMY WEIR

Despite Crystal Maze’s hey-day being over two decades ago, escape rooms seem to be growing in popularity – and not just as team building days! We were recently invited along* to put our wits to the test (and our nerves!) to see if we could escape together!

Escape Reality is a game played in real life. Your team have just 60 minutes to escape one of the rooms.

We chose to do the asylum room with a difficulty level of four. Think an insane asylum that has turned into a horror show and the only way out is to work as a team to solve the clues.

We headed to the Escape Rooms to try one of the six rooms they have there; they all have different themes and difficulty levels. Did we make it out in 60 minutes? Em…no, we barely made it through the first room (!) but in all fairness, it turns out we picked a really difficult room, with only 10% of groups completing it!

Will we be back? Definitely – although we might need to go for an easier room to see if we can actually manage to escape.
